Mexico Affairs welcomes story ideas and opinion pieces that help explain Mexico’s political, economic, and cultural transformation to an international audience.

What we are looking for

• News & analysis on politics, public policy, elections, and governance
• Business & investment stories on trade, industry, infrastructure, and innovation
• Travel & culture pieces that highlight places, people, and experiences across Mexico
• Lifestyle & society features on health, education, demographics, and daily life
• Opinion & commentary from experts, practitioners, and observers with a clear, well-argued point of view
• Interview proposals with policymakers, business leaders, academics, or other relevant voices

Submission guidelines

• Send only original work that you have the right to publish and that is not under consideration elsewhere.
• Briefly introduce yourself and explain your relevance to the topic (experience, expertise, or perspective).
• For opinion pieces, aim for 800–1,200 words and include a clear thesis and supporting arguments.
• For story ideas, provide a short pitch (3–6 paragraphs) outlining the angle, why it matters now, and any sources you propose.
• Disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the people, companies, or organizations in your piece.

What happens next

Our editorial team reviews submissions regularly. Because we receive more pitches than we can accept, we may not be able to respond to every proposal individually. If we are interested in your story or opinion piece, we will contact you to discuss next steps, edits, and potential publication.
