The United States is embarking on its most significant border infrastructure overhaul in nearly a decade. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have awarded $4.5 billion in contracts to expand the so-called ‘smart wall’ along the US-Mexico border.
